Centre Team Leader James writes; “A graduate who was attending our Globe Café for a year and who was not a Christian and having never been to church, was so struck by our welcome and friendship that he began to attend a local church to consider Christianity. After leaving, I linked him up with a church in his home country / area where he has continued to attend church and now began to read the bible…”

“Another graduate has just left to go to another country but has been in touch to say how much the Globe Café here helped him. He shared how welcoming a place it was and how great it was for connecting with others and being part of a community and feeling so included…”

 

Centre Team Helen writes; “The work of Friends International around the country couldn’t happen without our much-valued volunteers. In Exeter, it was thanks to the committed team of volunteers that they were able to keep events running throughout July and August, despite both staff members taking annual leave at various times. Students were hugely grateful for this, as many of their usual social events are put on hold over the summer holidays making it a lonely time for many of them. However, with the weekly opportunity to meet up and play board games and chat, as well as several trips to visit places of local interest, staff and volunteers were able to be a real blessing to these students and also deepen their friendships with them…”
