Affiliates Church/Organisation Working Agreement
The Friends International Affiliate Working Agreement
The Affiliate Network is a voluntary network enabling partnership between those working to befriend, reach out to and disciple international students. The following list is not intended to be exhaustive, but to characterise how we expect affiliating churches/organisations to relate to Friends International.
- The church/organisation leader and individual affiliates will affirm the Friends International Statement of Faith.
- The church/organisation leader and individual affiliates will respect Friends International’s statement on divergent views.
- We are fully supportive of affiliates being committed to their own ministries amongst internationals, indeed affiliates should not consider their international ministry or events as being “Friends International” as this is only appropriate for FI staff led events. However, we would like a positive working relationship between affiliates and Friends International staff. This is exemplified by:
- Individual affiliates attending at least one Friends International event each year (January Conference, May Training Days, cluster days or regional training).
- Praying for each other's international student ministry
- A readiness to share positive international student ministry experience, resources and contacts among Friends International staff and affiliates using the group email
- Individual affiliates who have expertise in certain areas of ministry will consider joining “working groups” where invited, to better equip all those involved in international student ministry..
- Individual affiliates’ contact details will be held by Friends International as long as they are affiliates. These contact details will be included in the FI Staff Directory (shared only with staff and affiliates) unless otherwise requested. Affiliates consent to being sent Friends International newsletters and journals, affiliate updates and emails sent to “allaffiliates”.
- Affiliating churches/organisations will be willing to pay the subscription fee to the network and reaffirm their intention to work as outlined above annually.
