Cardiff Celebrates Our 40th Anniversary

Cardiff Baked Up A Storm In Celebration!

We continued our Friends International 40th anniversary celebrations on Saturday 31st May in Cardiff. Event organiser Rowland Hughes provides an overview below:

“Saturday was fantastic. We had 140+ people attend, and it was such a special time. It very much felt like God’s hand was bringing elements together to produce a coherent message of how he worked through certain people to begin his ministry – it was lovely to be able to honour those who have gone before us, to hear lovely testimonies (videos and in person). Lindsay Brown brought God’s word and the history together, and those attending could also find out how to support FI and be given a vision for the future in our efforts with ISM.

Visitors loved the complementary gift coffee travel mugs and tote bags which we included a bookmark with various prayer and praise points for Wales as well as a postcard for people to fill in with their own Prayer or Praise points to showcase upon a display wall. Our team of volunteers and helpers also cooked over 600 Welshcakes, so each attendee could take delicious official Welsh cooking home!

Overall, the event felt like a lovely family coming together to share wonderful stories of God’s faithfulness and possibilities for the future, declaring his glory among the nations. I met people I hadn’t seen for over 20 years, and one person who had been supporting me for 21 years who I’d never met in person before. Since the event I’ve had messages from people who were so moved by what they heard that they would like to meet up to find out how they can get involved. Thank you to all who came to our event – a fantastic experience had by all!”
