We share below a recent Story Of Celebration from our Canterbury centre. Baiba, Centre Team Leader has passed on an account from an international student which is an opportunity to give thanks and praise!;
“My journey to faith began in April last year when a Christian classmate an Friends International worker invited me to the Baptist Church in Canterbury. At first I was just curious, but when I listened to the preaching, joined the worship, and read from the Bible, something changed in me. I began to feel that Jesus was calling me personally. A few months later, in August 2024, my family moved to Liverpool.
I was blessed to find Christ Church, where I continued learning about Jesus. Over time, through reading the Bible and reflecting, I came to believe that Jesus is not only a prophet or teacher, but the Son of God who died and rose again to give me forgiveness and eternal life. One verse that touched me deeply is John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” I realized this was not just about the world, but about me personally — that God loves me and chose me. Today, I want to declare that I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour.
Baptism for me means leaving my old life behind and beginning a new life with Him. My prayer is to follow Jesus faithfully, to love God, and to serve others in His name. Amen…”
