Stories Of Celebration

We share a recent update below from our Exeter team – Centre Team Leader Helen writes the following;

“Last week in Exeter was the Christian Union’s Events Week, and Friends International were delighted to be invited along to support them. The CU hosted a full programme of lunchtime and evening talks open to all students, alongside afternoon events designed especially for international students. It was genuinely exciting to see such an enthusiastic response from students across the board. The days when evangelistic events were met with hostility, antagonism, or apathy really do seem to be behind us. At several of the lunchtime talks there was standing room only, with many students attending out of real curiosity and a desire to hear what Christians had to say.

The CU warmly welcomed a number of international students, and these events provided a fantastic opportunity both to connect with students we hadn’t met before and to gain deeper insight into the questions our regulars are asking. One student even came along simply because he noticed the banner at the entrance and wanted to find out what was happening. He is from Türkiye and has been attending the Mormon church since arriving in Exeter, and we’re delighted that he has now signed up for our Discovering Christianity course!…”
