Stories Of Celebration: Norwich Updates

Summer Teams - A Wonderful Journey To Exploring Faith

As we continue our ongoing look at stories of encouragement across the UK and Ireland, we are excited by this recent news story from Norwich, who share examples of students who have been moved and impacted by the work of Friends International:

S – A Christian student from India, has been incredibly active at our events. She joined the Summer Outreach team in Norwich and most evenings the room was full with her friends! A few months ago, she was awarded by the Norwich Business School (where she studies) with a Citizenship Award for her work connecting students with us and with the Faith Centre. An amazing example of the impact Christian internationals can have on campus. S is now exploring our Philip Project, to continue growing in her own discipleship.

Y – From China, completed the Reach programme during the lockdown and is now completing her Phd in Norwich. She connected with a Chinese family (students at UEA) and invited them to the Summer Outreach. As it turned out, their landlady happened to be a Christian and they had already met Christians in the city. They loved the events in the Summer, want to send their children to a Holiday Club at church and wish to start attending church on Sundays.
As a result of the summer outreach, a number of students from Hindu background are interested in studying the Bible also.

– Do continue to pray for these and all students impacted by our work and the Summer Teams events!
