WATCH: Summer Training Series (All Six Sessions)

Summer 2020

There were no Summer Teams in 2020, but an exciting training initiative instead.

While the usual Friends International Summer Teams have not been able to take place, we have been thrilled to put on the kind of training we give to summer team members and make it widely available through Zoom.

Our ‘Sharing Christ Cross-Culturally’ series ran for 6 weeks and over 150 individuals joined the training, finding the teaching ‘excellent, insightful and helpful’, and ‘a fantastic resource for our work’.

It has been exciting to see people across the UK access the training from a whole range of ages and stages, including: British students thinking about reaching international students in their universities; hosts who welcome international students into their home; and those just starting to think about how to reach people from different nations in their local community.

We have enjoyed partnering with Gerard Charles from OMF and Ruby Lu who works at St Andrew the Great church in Cambridge, who – along with Friends International Staff – put together a toolbox of the foundations of cross-cultural ministry.

We are grateful to all the different speakers, discussion group facilitators, hosts, testimony-givers and behind-the-scenes folk who have made it an excellent training series.

We Need Your Support

Friends International organise free training for churches and volunteers, including this Summer Training Series. However, generous donors are needed to make it all possible.

Please consider making a gift so that we can continue equipping churches in cross-cultural ministry.
